The Giving Me

The Giving Me is a children's picture book “dedicated to the family and friends of Trey Lefler, whose giving saved lives.” Inspired by Trey’s giving spirit and decision to be an organ donor, I wrote this story about the act of giving.

In The Giving Me, children follow a young boy and his natural acts of giving. Within each page, Readers - both young and older-ish - experience the ways giving comes full circle and ultimately saves lives. The Giving Me helps young children understand the importance of giving and empowers them to make a difference in the world.

Brilliantly talented Illustrator: Fran Battendieri

The Giving Me includes two unique additions that were crafted by brilliant contributors, colleagues and friends who work steadfastly to make the world a more kind place for all. A PARENT DISCUSSION GUIDE, written by Stephen de Groot from Getting to Better is included to help adult readers deeply connect with their children while reading. A CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY GUIDE, written by Orly Wahba, of Life Vest Inside, is included that extends invitations in the book to real world experiences. Their contributions to the book help make it a one-of-a-kind read to expand young children's understanding of the importance of listening.

The Listening Me

The Listening Me helps children develop the lifeskill of listening. I strategically crafted this book to provide children with "listening invitations" to practice and understand the importance of listening. From rising in the morning, to resting their head on the pillow at night, children are invited to interact with the world as a listener and critical thinker.

The Long and the Short of It: A Tale About Hair

I had the honor of co-authoring this award-winning children's book with a dear friend, Barbara Meyers! This is the true story of two little girls: Emma and Isabel - and their hair - which "sometimes was long and sometimes was short and sometimes was not."  Winner of the Gold Mom's Choice Award (and 6 others awards/honors), this book captures the spirit of giving through perserverance.
